Meet the surgeons of tomorrow! Today’s suturing lesson was led by Dr. Katie Shahwan, students learned how to make a variety of sutures and stitches on pigs legs while working in groups of two. Each student got the chance to see a demonstration up close before trying it out on their own. Afterwards, students switched over to the hematology lab and practiced their phlebotomy and diagnostic skills by determining which blood diseases are occurring in different blood smears.
